    Mysore palace

    Ambas Vilas Palace was popularly known as Mysore palace was an official residence of royal family. Built during 1897-1912, is a three storied structure constructed in the Indo Saracenic style. The golden howdah (elephant seat) along with intricately carved doors and fabulous paintings are among few other treasures of the Mysore Palace. On Sundays, public holidays and during Dasara Celebrations, the palace is illuminated with more than 90,000 electric bulbs. The bulbs are lightened in the evening from 1900 Hrs to 2000 Hrs.       Brindavan garden

      Located at a distance of 19 kms from Mysore City Center, the Brindavan Gardens is a magnificent example of engineering and a major tourist attractions. The gardens are built across river Cauvery and below Krishnaraja Sagar Dam. The dam was built by Sir M. Vishweshwariah in 1924 whereas the Brindavan Gardens were built by Sir Mirza Ismail. The beautiful botanical garden, boat rides and the musical fountain are the favourites attractions. It is an important nesting and breeding ground for the thousands of bird species. Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary witnesses the arrival of a large number of migratory birds of different flocks from as far as Siberia, North America and Australia. The migratory birds start arriving at the Ranganathittu Bird sanctuary in December and the breeding season starts during the winter months and they finally migrate back with their nestlings in August. This sanctuary is situated at 4 Kms. from Srirangapatna and 19 Kms. from Mysore.

                  Distance between Mysore and Bangalore is just 150 kms and there is good road connectivity between the 2 cities.
                  If you want to drive to Mysore from Bangalore, take the Mysore Road all the way till Mysore via Kengeri, Ramnagaram and Mandya.
