The Victoria Clocktower (also known as Lorloz) is the most prominent feature of Seychelles. The Lorloz is an elegant replica of the clock that was first erected in London in 1897
The National Museum of History was established in 1964. The Botanical Garden is one of Seychelles’ oldest National Monuments, dating back more than a century. It houses a wide collection of mature, exotic and endemic plants within five acres of landscaped and beautifully maintained tropical gardens. You can also find a great population of giant tortoises, some of which are over 150 years old.
Visiting the busy and colourful Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market is the best way to get a feel of Seychellois and their way of life. Built in 1840, it remains the bustling heart of the city and definitely the best place to buy fresh fruits, fish, vegetables and spices. You can find an attractive array of boutiques and shops selling a variety of souvenirs, clothing and local art work.
